Freiren knew she would fail
she also knew, that no matter what, Fern would pass
Then Freiren still rubbed a certain one in the wrong way
Ubel was dangerous that's why she passed
Megane didn't even participate in the exam but still passed
Onee-san with her onee-san quota, she passed
Love the subtle detail of Frieren's eyes fluttering when Wirbel mentioned Himmel. To have such physical reaction from hearing someone's name, it really goes to show how much Himmel means to her and how greatly he has impacted her life, even though their adventure together is no more than a hundredth of her lifespan.
That being said,
What an amazing season. It has been a really amazing journey from start to finish (well, more like the prologue if we being real). From the art, the writing, the characters, the ost, the comfort it has provided. I love it all.
Me annoyed and slightly more aggressive than normal.
As a casual anime enthusiast and definitely not some professional critic, I was motivated to enjoy the convenience of watching fma weekly in English as it released. Since the advancement of internet and accessibility of anime to the greater masses, I personally feel that all the hype around frieren is based off just more casual people agreeing upon a common goal. TBH how is it that a show with less scores is deemed #1. Honestly I haven’t watched fmab in over a decade and yet it sits at number 2 and has been #1 for the last decade. I would consider this a fad moment for frieren. I only watched this show because I was expecting something better than fma or even fmab. I do hope over the next 10 years the numbers readjust to how they really should be. And as always my opinion doesn’t matter to the leagues of uuber fans and im ok with it. I just don’t like fad things stealing thunder from time tested successes. Personally I don’t even feel fmab is worth top spot but I won’t dismiss its position.
Amazing ending for me, genuinely a wonderful experience of a season, and left a lot of the messages and themes of the season strongly reinforced (sacredness of memories, familial bonding etc.)
im crying in my bedroom. holy moly this anime is one of the best anime ever. i know this anime is so popular but i didn't understand the hype so i am skipping it until earlier this year. but as i watch it, i see their social media that said season 2 is on production. so i feel happy that i watched it now and finally joining the hype. <3
It's an adventure story, but this one is about what happens after the villain is defeated. I'm impressed that a story can be told from such a perspective. It's very moving. It's an anime you should definitely watch.
I've seen a lot of anime, thousands of titles across over 60 years of anime. This is easily one of the best I've ever come across, and deserves its place in the pantheon of masterpiece works. I can only hope the second season as well as future projects have as much heart and dedication as this. I cannot help but appreciate the effort to bring this anime to life, and in such an uncompromising vision. I can only pray that we receive more anime of this caliber more than once a decade. What a mere ten years.
The final episode of this amazing anime at we have Fern passing and actually a ton of people passing. Something about the Mage leader girl i forget her name is that she just goes off of whether she likes the person or at least it seems that way to me, maybe im just pissy because Frieren didn't get the first class mage status but i think she should've been the mage end of. Frieren also got jumped by The leaders student and then talks him down so good job Frieren for having social skills. And now the adventure continues onward. They leave the capital that they have spent the last ten episodes in and i wonder what the hell happened to that second corrupt priest where did he go he just disappeared man :<
Because its not an "end". In the manga its just a normal chapter. But they had to stop the anime season somewhere since the next few arcs are pretty long.
it was alright .Still feels too early to judge the show as a whole. It veered away a bit or to be precise put on the backburner, the conflict arising due to the shortness of time .Hope it would divulge into the good ,bad and ugly facet of the heroics of the heroes in the upcoming season
Just got into watching anime after a long time and this was a perfect one to start. it was not anything visualy stunnign or with complex story. I enjoyed everyone of those episodes.I still wish for Stark and Fern to like eachother more but I guess we will se in season 2.
Instead of focusing on the typical hero's journey to defeat evil, "Frieren" uniquely explores the lives after the great quest is over. This shift in perspective allows for a deeper examination of the consequences of that journey and the characters' internal landscapes in the long run.
